Student Progression

Our Aims  

 

The aim of A4S is to change the lives of the young people we work with, through positive and personalised learning experiences. We hope that through our intervention, the young people will have an increase in their confidence and self - esteem by doing enjoyable activities that help them to fulfil their potential and discover their talents. We aim for positive outcomes for our students in the form of: skills and qualifications; aspirations for their future; the desire to continue to engage in learning to further increase their achievements and find suitable employment.   Hopefully this will be a stepping stone to their future success.

 

Our Achievements

 

Our database records daily progress made by each student and their achievements.  In the academic year 2014/2015 a total of 1543 sessions were delivered, through which 66 qualifications were achieved.

Young people achieved the following qualifications: 15 at E3 Level; 41 at Level 1; 8 at Level 2; and 2 at Level 3.

We also delivered 70 holiday sessions during school holidays, although normally no qualifications are gained through these sessions as they are designed to be fun and engaging.

We receive very positive feedback from students, referrers, parents and carers. We collect photographs,  testimonials and attributable comments to evidence the benefits of our work.

On March 31st 2016, A4S was presented with a High Sheriffs Citizenship Award, which was in recognition of great and valuable services to the community. We are very grateful for this award.

 

Student Attendance

 

This is generally good.  In 2014-5 we delivered 1543 term-time coaching sessions. The overall attendance for these sessions was 80%.  Our records also show that 19% of students had 100% attendance during term time. Considering most of our students have been at risk from exclusion, this is very good and is evidence of their enjoyment of the courses they are doing and the positive relationships that they are building.
